Santa Fe National Cemetery 2024 Memorial Day Services

 

Monday, May 27, 2024 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery festivities started at 10 AM sharp with a flyover at 10:45 AM. The Knights showed up between 8:30 and 9 AM. Major General Miguel Allegre, James Crow DPAA, and Cemetery Director Victor Vasquez were the speakers, and a letter from Ben Ray Lujan was read by Carmela Quintana. Chaplain Jose Villegas Sr who is with St. Ann Holy Faith Assembly 3478 gave the Invocation and Benediction. The Knights gave honor to posting of the colors, the rifle volley, placing of the memorial wreath and the taps. Five assemblies and eight men throughout New Mexico participated in the memorial day events at the national cemetery.

Santa Fe Assembly 685 was represented by Ben Mendoza, Raymond Martinez and Michael Specht.

Saint Ignacio Loyola Assembly 3732 had Steven M Budenski and Eric Vigil.

Our Lady of Belen Assembly 687 had Jason Apodocca.

Saint Jude Assembly 3186 had Dave Holt and Chaplain Jose Villegas Sr who is with St Ann Holy Faith Assembly 3478.

The Color Corps consisted of seven men who gave honor to the festivities at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

From the Santa Fe Heroes Banner Project to the veterans who have been buried at the national cemetery, the Knights of Columbus gave honor these last six days to those who have provided the ultimate sacrifice for our day of life which we enjoy today.
