The Knights Of Columbus Mexican Martyr Feast Day is Tuesday, May 21.
Today is The Knights Of Columbus Mexican Martyr Feast Day.
Mass was celebrated at San Isidro Catholic Church with GK Greg Lopez, and Nuestra Conquistadora Council 16601.
The icon represents the six priest that were Knights Of Columbus members who were killed with thousands of Mexican Catholics men who were Knights. They would not bow to the threats or renounce their faith so often paid with their lives. The icon shows them standing against the evil showing their courage and devotion that have echo down through the decades.
The 1920s brought a revolution to Mexico along with widespread persecution of Catholics. The Knights Of Columbus did not retreat in Mexico, but grew dramatically from 400 members in 1918 to 6000 members and 43 council in just five years.
